"Dock Around the Corner"   There are some beautiful lakes in this area and Leland Lake is one such gem.  A few fortunate folks have cabins along the shore, each with its own dock.  The frame is quite elaborate.  The strips of glass on the sides echo the reeds along the shore, while the undulating design at top and bottom in glass echo the gentle movement of the water.  40"W x 25 1/2"H.  $3600

"Long Ago, Far Away" Many years ago Gary and an artist friend took a canoe trip in Alaska.  Old cabins were frequently seen and photographed and provide inspiration for art even today.  Gary used a pen and ink underpainting which shows through here and there in the painting.  This hints at the years of history and the people who lived there.  The frame is subtle in color but rich in texture.  Many layers of paint were applied, scraped, sanded, and glazed.  So the frame has its own history.  Sometimes drama is what makes the piece, and then there are times like this when understatement is the key.  23"W x 21"H.  $950

"Evening Fire" Another trip to our beautiful coast and a wealth of memories distilled in this painting.  How wonderful to enjoy a beach fire from the inexhaustable supply of driftwood while drinking a cup of camp coffee and watching the sun go down.  The frame is cherry, and with its glass inlays, has an art deco flair.  58"W x 31 1/2" H.  $3800

"Evening Watch".  Owls are always special to hear and see; we sometimes hear them in the woods near our house in the evenings.  As the moon rises this owl is ready to start hunting.  The frame is cherry with a glass inset at the top to echo the moon in the painting. As framed, 12"W x 34"H, $345

"Emerald Evening".  Lake Crescent is wonderful at any time of the day but it's really special in the dim light of the evening, and the silence isn't broken by the passing of a lone kayaker.  The cherry frame is a nice contrast to the rich colors of the painting and glass in the side panels.  39"W x 18 1/2"H.  $1850

"Color Splash".  A glance out our window one day revealed colorful visitors, Goldfinches, gone in a flash but leaving a lasting impression. Gary painted the background loosely to help suggest this fleeting moment.  Birds are so elegant and sometimes their color allows the use of vibrant glass, like the glass used in the side panels.  As framed,  34" x 12"  $486

"The Little Fisherman"
, 32" x 28". Frequently seen in our area are river otters; in fact, we often see them from our gallery window. This one is focused on eating a freshly caught fish from a little stream near our favorite secret beach! The design of an otter complements the central painting. As framed, $785, by Gary Peterson.
